The configuration form of the automobile transmission system is related to the position of the engine and the driving form. It is generally divided into four forms: front front drive, front rear drive, rear rear drive, and mid-mounted rear drive. The power output by the engine first passes through the clutch and is twisted by the transmission. After shifting, it is transmitted to the final drive through the transmission shaft, and to the driving wheels through the differential and side shafts.

We know that the power output by the engine passes through a series of power transmission systems, rather than directly acting on the wheels to drive the car. How is its power transmitted to the wheels? Next, let's learn about the carDrive systemStructure analysis!

How is the transmission system transmitted?

The power output by the engine first passes through the clutch and is twisted by the transmission. After shifting, it is transmitted to the final drive through the transmission shaft, and to the driving wheels through the differential and side shafts.

The configuration form of the automobile transmission system is related to the position of the engine and the driving form. It is generally divided into four forms: front front drive, front rear drive, rear rear drive, and mid-mounted rear drive.

What is a front-runner?

Front Drive (FF) means that the engine is placed in the front of the car and the front wheels are used as driving wheels. At present, most cars have adopted this configuration. Since the engine is configured in the front of the car, the center of gravity of the entire car is concentrated on the front section of the body, which is a bit "head-heavy and tail-light". However, since the body is driven by the front wheels, the straight-ahead stability of the front-drive vehicle is very good.

In addition, the power of the engine passes through the differential. However, because the front wheels are responsible for driving and steering at the same time, the steering radius is relatively large. The side shaft directly drives the front wheels, so there is no need to go through the drive shaft. The power loss is small and suitable for small cars. Easily lead to understeer.

What is a pre-drive?

The FR vehicle has a balanced front and rear weight, and has good handling performance and driving stability. However, there are many transmission parts. Front drive (FR) means that the engine is placed in the front of the car and the rear wheels are used as driving wheels. The mass of the transmission system is large, and the transmission shaft running through the cabin occupies the floor space in the cabin.

FR cars have excellent handling, stability and braking, and current high-performance cars still like to adopt this layout.

What is a rear drive?

Rear drive (RR) means that the engine is placed behind the rear axle and driven by the rear wheels. The starting and acceleration performance is very good, and the rear wheels are used as driving wheels.

The turning performance of the RR car is sharper than that of FF and FR, and it will slip and wag its tail, but when the grip of the rear wheel reaches the limit, it is not easy to maneuver.

What is a mid-rear drive?

The middle rear drive (MR) means that the engine is placed between the cab and the rear axle, and the rear wheels are used as the driving wheels. The weight distribution of the whole vehicle is close to the ideal balance, and the MR car can be guaranteed with sports performance. Because the engine of the moving inertia in the car is located in the body, the MR car is in the middle position because the engine is in the middle position, so the compartment is very narrow, generally only two seats. In addition, the engine is very close to the driver and the noise is also very loud. Of course, the pursuit of car driving performance will not care about this.

The role of the clutch

The clutch is located in the flywheel housing between the engine and the transmission, fixed on the rear plane of the flywheel, and the other end is connected to the input shaft of the transmission. The clutch corresponds to a power switch that transmits or cuts off power input from the engine to the transmission. The main purpose is to make the car start smoothly, and the power to the transmission system can be cut off in time to match the shift and prevent the transmission system from overloading.

There are several types of automobile clutches, such as friction clutches, hydraulic couplings, and electromagnetic clutches. Now, the clutch is mainly composed of four parts: the active part (flywheel, clutch cover, etc.), the driven part, and the operating mechanism. The clutch combined with the manual transmission is mostly a dry friction clutch, and the operation principle of the friction clutch will be described below.

The clutch cover is fixed on the rear end surface of the flywheel with screws. Through the friction between the flywheel and the contact surface of the pressure plate and the driven plate, the friction plate in the clutch is pressed on the flywheel surface by the force of the spring, and the friction plate is connected to the input shaft of the transmission. Transferring torque from the engine to the transmission.

Before the clutch pedal is not stepped on, the force is transmitted to the release fork and the release bearing via the operating mechanism. The release bearing moves forward, the friction plate is pressed on the end surface of the flywheel, and the power of the engine is transmitted to the transmission. When the clutch pedal is stepped on, pressure is applied. After the clutch pedal is released, the diaphragm spring returns again, the diaphragm spring is pressed on the flywheel end, the diaphragm spring moves in the opposite direction with the support ring as the fulcrum, and the clutch is reconnected. Engine power continues to be transmitted.

Cut three samples with a length of 250 mm from one PJ V-ribbed belt, and mark a marking line with a spacing of 100mm at the middle position of the PJ V-ribbed belt. When more than three samples cannot be taken from one PJ V-ribbed belt, samples can be cut from the same batch of PJ V-ribbed belt, but must be indicated in the report. 7.4.2 High temperature resistance test method
Place the sample at 100 ℃ ± 2 ℃ for 96 h ± 1 h and then take it out. After standing at laboratory temperature for more than 2h, bend it along a cylinder with a diameter of 20 mm at a contact angle of at least 90 °.
